The King Cove Department of Public Safety is the only law enforcement entity for the City of King Cove.
The police department is composed of the Chief, one Sergeant, and one Patrol Officer. Together, the on-duty officer—along with supervisory support from the Chief and Sergeant—provide immediate, around-the-clock law enforcement coverage to the community. Officers respond to and investigate a wide range of incidents. Given the community’s remote location, officers are often responsible for managing investigations from the initial complaint through to prosecution. Cases arise not only within city limits but also on surrounding state and federal lands and waters. The division is frequently called upon to conduct investigations on behalf of other agencies whose personnel may be based far from the area.
We take great pride in the professionalism and versatility of our officers. We actively support the development of a broad skill set and encourage continued education and advanced training.
