Know Before You Go<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Always check for fire restrictions or burn bans before starting a campfire.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fire conditions can change quickly\u2014stay informed and follow all posted regulations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some areas may prohibit open flames altogether.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Choose a Safe Campfire Site<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use existing fire rings, fire pans, or fire-safe designated areas whenever possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select a site on bare soil or gravel, away from dry grass, brush, overhanging branches, and tents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clear a 5-foot area around the fire of all flammable materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep a <strong>shovel and plenty of water<\/strong> nearby at all times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Stay With Your Fire \u2013 You Are Responsible<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Never leave a fire unattended.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Even small campfires can escape and start wildfires.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fires can continue to smolder underground in roots or peat\u2014stay alert.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are legally and personally responsible for any damage caused by your fire.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Assess Fire Conditions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Avoid building fires in <strong>windy or dry conditions<\/strong>, which increase the risk of spreading flames.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use fire only when it can be safely controlled and monitored.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5.
